Hello! This is the web site of John Nunnemacher: Independent cartoonist, illustrator, and designer, with decades of experience in cartooning and illustration, animation and television production, and graphic and industrial design. What have I done?

Since graduating from college, I’ve worked as a sort of jack-of-all-trades across several industries. I’ve done animation, inbetweening, and character layout for television shows and animated movies. I’ve worked as a designer, animator, writer, storyboard artist, and art director for several educational CD-ROM games. I’ve done page layout, ad design, and production management for monthly and quarterly magazines and periodicals.

What do I do?

Lately I’ve been working mostly as an independent freelancer, working on some projects of my own (particularly comic books) while also doing cartoons, illustrations, and industrial design for various clients. Much of my time is spent doing conceptual work and raster or vector designs for both manual and CNC construction and installation of light displays and other environmental elements. I also design and produce icons, cartoons, and illustrations for both private and business clients, and design and assemble brochures and other printed materials by desktop publishing.

What can I do for you?

I keep a relatively small stable of clients … but you never know when I might have time for more! Do you need a logo and a suite of print materials and web images for your company or project? An illustration for a poster or window sign? Or maybe an appealing mascot to represent your organization? I can do that. Do you need a design to be printed, burned, or etched onto merchandise or marketing materials, or cut from metal or acrylic for a display or installation? I can take your idea from initial concept to print- or machine-ready vector files. Have a complicated concept or idea you need presented for educational or instructional purposes? A series of illustrations or a short comic book might just be an effective and economic way to do it!
