About the Artist

I was born in the Lehigh Valley, about an hour north of Philadelphia in eastern Pennsyvlania. Growing up in rural suburbia, I entertained a number of interests through childhood, including science, computers, and architecture … but somehow, I always came back to drawing cartoons and funny animals. After starting college as a Computer Science major, I graduated with a degree in Graphic Arts and Ad Design, magna cum laude, and began my career in earnest.

After spending time first in the print and advertising industry, the moving into educational interactive media and then television and film animation, I eventually settled down as an independent freelance cartoonist and designer, working for clients and developing my own projects on the side.

I’m currently living in the Austin, TX area with my long-term boyfriend, enjoying the local food and coffee shop culture, and doing my part to keep Austin weird.

Random Accomplishments:

  • Though majoring in Graphic Arts, I still earned a minor in Computer Science.
  • In my senior year of college, I worked on a year-long independent project and wrote a thesis entitled Sequential Art and the Use of Anthropomorphic Animal Characters … which, against all logic, earned my graduation the distinction “With Honors.”
  • I created a comic strip character for the college news paper, and gave him the name “Amos Greyhound,” which still, years after I graduated, occasionally appears in official college materials as the mascot’s name.
  • As a caricature artist at Seaworld, I’ve drawn people hailing from all corners of the world, from Canada to Brazil to England to South Africa to Japan to India.
  • I was once asked to draw a guest dressed as Indiana Jones running down a mountain of spaghetti being chased by a giant meatball while carrying the Holy Eggplant. Mission accomplished.
  • I’ve storyboarded two independent feature films that were sadly never produced.
  • I once drew a full mural in front of an audience of hundreds of children and adult, while a full wind ensemble performed Peter and the Wolf live on stage behind me.
  • I once had sushi with Mystery Science Theatre 3000’s Joel Hodgson. He paid the bill.
  • I worked for two years at a tobacco store, having never smoked a cigarette, cigar, pipe, or vape pen in my life.
  • I worked in a technical support call center for three weeks.
  • I once rescued a dog, who was my constant companion for twelve years, and I still miss her. Currently I do volunteer work for a local animal center.
  • I’ve lived in Pennsylvania, Florida, Texas, and Southern California, and I’ve driven from coast to coast at least three times.
